Pajama Poetry Day

The Year 7 students are on camp. The Year 6 students and Miss Paterson have been left behind! What to do? HAVE A PAJAMA POETRY DAY with our teddybears! We have listened to pajama poems, teddy bear poems and stories.

But what have we learned?

We have been learning how to write a free verse poem. We wrote our own poems about our Teddy Bears or our Pajamas. Please read them. Just click on 'comments' below this post. Enjoy!

  1. MY POOR SAD TEDDY
    by Nathan

    There he sits

    Abandoned

    To this day

    Never loved

    Stranded

    On the shelf

    Just a little

    Untouched

    Fragment

    Of when

    I was young

    He sits there

    Thinking

    I'm so lonely

    So invisible

    I haven't been touched

    In four years

    Never been happy

    Why can't

    Someone appreciate me?

  2. A TEDDY'S LEGACY
    by William

    I wondered why
    These past years
    I was forgotten
    Wanting to be loved
    Again.

    My loneliness increasing
    My cuddle-me-now attitude.

    It's been two years
    Left down in this infinite
    Land.

    Trapped between
    My beloved
    Resting place
    And
    A polished wooden cliff.

    I've had a good life
    so far.

    Now and again
    A fragment of memory
    Slips my mind.

    I'm slowly
    Losing hope.

    Until
    One morning
    Lying there
    Half alive
    Barely asleep
    From my eternal position
    So uncomfortable
    The master came
    All those memories.

    I had lost
    Were restored
    Now
    I am an honoured beacon
    Of hope.

I sit on my beloved resting place
    Clean and soft as ever.

    A true story.

  3. WHY ARE THEY HERE
    by Billy

    I snuggle up

    In my cosy bed

    Why

    Are they here?

    Are they here

    for hugs

    and kisses?

    To be loved

    To pieces

    For ice cream

    So contrate

    Coming back to life

    I remember

    Why they're here

    Right

    They're in your heart.

  4. WHY OH WHY
    By Levi

    Why oh why

    Am I under here

    All alone

    So

    Oh so scared

    A big black cat

    Is biting me

    My arm

    It is hanging off

    I'm hurt

    Someone

    Help me

    My super soft fur

    Is everywhere

    My lovely owner

    Where are you?

    Your cat is

    attacking me

    by Jake

    Off and on

    Hugs and snuggle

    For so long

    With my cuddles.

    Love with you

    Love with me

    Shiny tired

    Off to bed.

  6. MY PAJAMAS
    by Chanelle

    The lovely warmth
    And cosiness
    Of my special
    Frog Pajamas
    Brings joy
    And love to me
    At night
    When I go
    To bed
    Makes me feel
    So comfortable
    I think the frogs
    Are undercover spies
    Who look after
    And protect me
    While I sleep
    Through the pitch
    Black night
I wake up the next morning
The first thing that I do
Is to say hello to my PJs
And give them a big thanks
    The soothing thought of
    Relaxing
    On my bed
    When I get to say
    Good night
    I love my
    Fabulous
    Pajamas
I love them just the way they are!

  7. A LOST TEDDY
    by Joseph

    A lost teddy,

    A lovely teddy,

    Trapped,

    In the dark,

    Dark,

    Wardrobe,

    Scared,

    Sad,

    Terrified.

    That he wouldn't,

    Be found

    But then,

    I open the door.

    I pick him up,

    Hug him,

    And

    Play with him,

    In the

    Sun.

  8. TEDDIES
    by Dane

    I wonder
    What
    It's like
    Being a Teddy Bear.

    All alone
    Covered
    In
    A blanked
    Of dust
    All tattered
    And ripped.

    With
    Nothing to do
    But cry
    Until
    He plays
    With me
    Of course.

    We liked
    To run
    Around
    Outside
    Then
    At night
    We would
    Gaze
    At
    The stars

  9. WITHOUT YOU
    by Katie

    I'm all alone
    Up here
    by myself.

    I'm waiting
    Just for you
    To return.

    Sitting
    In fear
    With no one else.

    "Hurry up clock,"
    I cry
    "Move faster
    I need you
    Here
    With me."

    You bring me
    The biggest of joy
    When you laugh
    With gladness.

    Come back
    To me
    Let me
    Happy and cosy
    With you.

I feel at home with you
    And only you.

    COME HOME
    So we can
    Snuggle and huggle
    Together, forever.

  10. FORGOTTEN
    by Michael

    I sit here
    Waiting
    Under a pile of jackets.

    Hoping
    Praying
    That someone
    Will find me.

    I'm love-able
    I'm cute
    Somebody
    Love me
    Please.

I see a ray of hope
    My escape plan close by
    Sadly
    I'm closed out
    I must wait.

    A new hope
    They pick me up
    They love me
    I'm loved
    I'm kept forever.

  11. THE LONELY TEDDY BEAR
    by Jessie

    I sit staring

    Into space

    All alone

    I don't see

    Anyone

    It's just me

    Here

    All alone

    I sit

    On the bed

    Wondering

    Where

    Have you gone

    You fill me with passion

    But only you

    My big eyes

    Are watering

    I miss you

    Come home

    And be

    With your

    Teddy bear

  15. These poems are good! Well done guys. I am really proud of the effort you put in today. I was really impressed with the quality of the discussions before you started planning your poems and the thoughtful comments and ideas you came up with. I'm glad that you enjoyed the day Jake. Mrs Olivier would have let us. She would have loved to have been there to join us. You guys really earned the movie time. I can't wait to see the notes you made about the movie in your Writers Notebooks. Thank you everyone for a lovely day.
